It’s another new year. Enjoy 2025 with a blend of culture and organization. The Ahanta 2025 Calendar is here to help you plan your year while celebrating the rich heritage of the Fante people. Designed with cultural highlights, important dates, holidays as prescribed by the government of Ghana through the Ministry of Interior, and stunning visuals.
The 2025 Ahanta Calendar, created by Ghanalingo’s Ebenezer Kobinah Offen, is packed with remarkable features that celebrate Ahanta heritage. One of its standout elements is the depiction of the historic Fort Batenstein, meaning ‘Profit Fort’, a monumental structure established by the Dutch West India Company in 1656. The Fort is located at Butre, an Ahanta coastal town in the Western Region of Ghana.
This iconic Fort Batenstein landmark, prominently displayed on top of the calendar, symbolizes the rich cultural and historical identity of the Ahanta people. Ahanta is also on the calender, right on top of the year 2025 boldly displayed on the calender.
The calendar displays the twelve months in Ahanta, following the structure of the Gregorian calendar. It also includes the initials of the seven days of the week in Ahanta. For context, the seven days are: Bɔɔlɔ, Kizile, Twɔkɔ, Kulo, Manlɩ, Yaalɛ and Fʋlɔ.
An interesting feature of the calendar is the inclusion of various holidays officially declared by the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of the Interior. These holidays are clearly marked with a brownish colour for easy reference.
Schools, corporate organizations, institutions and people who wish to download and print the calendar in hardcopy format have full permission to do so. The digital version of the 2025 Ahanta Calendar is available for free download below:
