Ghanalingo founder Ebenezer Kobinah Offen

Celebrated online Ghanaian language teacher and advocate Ebenezer Kobinah Offen has launched Ghanalingo.com, a new website dedicated to promoting Ghanaian languages and culture.

Ghanalingo.com is designed to be a vibrant hub for anyone interested in learning about and celebrating Ghana’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage. The website features sections on language education, history, cultural topics such as food, traditional costumes/clothing, and festivals, and entertainment including Ghanaian visual arts and crafts found in movies and music, and transcriptions of music sung in various Ghanaian languages.

At the virtual launch on June 25, 2024, Ebenezer Kobinah Offen highlighted the website’s mission:

“Ghanalingo.com is here to help preserve and promote our beautiful languages and culture. It’s a place for everyone to learn and share in the richness of our heritage. That is why I gave it the slogan “Experience the vibrant ryhthms of Ghanaian languages and culture”. The website is open to all individuals, including language academics, students, and organizations passionate about language advocacy, particularly for Ghanaian and African languages.”

The website offers interactive language education, history, stories about Ghanaian traditions, and stunning visual content. It also encourages community contributions, making it a collaborative space for sharing knowledge and experiences.
