Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) has once again caught the attention of Ghanaians with its 2024 edition. The reality show, which showcases the beauty, intelligence, and cultural knowledge of 16 young women from all 16 regions of Ghana, concluded with Savannah Region’s Titiaka being crowned the winner. For three months, contestants participated in various cultural, educational, and community-centered activities, all while celebrating Ghanaian and African heritage. Broadcast on Media General’s TV3 and supported by numerous stakeholders, GMB continues to be a platform that promotes the richness of our diverse cultures through beauty pageantry every year.
The 2024 edition of Ghana’s Most Beautiful, themed ‘Experience Ghana’s Beauty Through Elegance,’ kicked off in grand style on August 3, 2024, at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra. The event was a celebration of culture, with stunning ladies from all 16 regions of Ghana representing their unique traditions and heritage. Each contestant, dressed in rich Ghanaian attire, showcased the beauty, elegance, and depth of their respective cultures made the occaision a truly remarkable launch.
The 16 contestents were Owusuaa representing the Bono East Region, Minkiya for North East Region, Eiapa for the Central Region, Hatie for the Upper West Region, Darkowaa for Ahafo Region, Nana for the Western North Region, Nanayaa for Oti Region, Peprah for the Eastern Region, Abena for Western Region, Maltiti for the Northern Region, Hamabansi for the Upper East Region, Afriyie for the Ashanti Region, Awuraa for Bono Region, Makafui for the Volta Region, Naa Ameley for the Greater Accra Region and the eventual winner Titiaka for the Savannah Region.
The reality show, which has been in existence since 2007, has continued to captivate audiences, and the 2024 edition was no different. Throughout the competition, several evictions took place, leaving those with strong performances and solid voting support to advance to the finals. These talented young women impressed with their presentations of rich Ghanaian culture, from traditional history to singing, traditional games, dancing and drumming. However, education remained the central focus, as the contestants delivered insightful presentations on critical issues like child abuse and advocacy.
On the final night of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024 at the National Theatre, Titiaka made history by becoming the first hijab-wearing winner of the competition. The Ashanti Region’s Afriyie secured the 1st runner-up position, Volta Region’s Makafui took 2nd runner-up, and Eastern Region’s Peprah rounded out the top as the 3rd runner-up. Contestants who stood out were rewarded with cash prizes and souvenirs, while Titiaka received a cash prize, a four-wheel-drive car, and additional incentives from the show’s sponsors.
The 2024 edition of Ghana’s Most Beautiful once again proved to be a powerful platform for celebrating Ghanaian culture, beauty, and intelligence. With Titiaka’s historic win as the first hijab-wearing contestant, the competition did not only showcased the diverse cultural heritage of all 16 regions but also highlighted the importance of education and advocacy. The journey of these remarkable women inspired audience with commitment to social issues and culture as the anticipation for the 2025 edition’s begins.
